Does hardwood flooring increase the potential for a fast home sale?

Many people say it does, in terms of both the time the property is on the market and the selling price it commands. Joel and Tara Howard of Greensboro, NC, are among them. They had quite a positive experience when they put their house up for sale in 2009, despite the sluggishness of the real estate market.

In a several-year period when record foreclosures have occurred across the nation, Greensboro, located in Guilford County, has suffered as well. Since the housing crisis began in 2005, Guilford’s foreclosures have been as high as 15.9 percent, well above the state average. Of the properties that are selling, those in the Howards’ price range stay on the market around 133 days.

But Joel and Tara’s house sold within three days for almost the full asking price. And they had multiple offers.
